British rap artist Ghetts appeared in court on October 27, facing a charge of causing death by dangerous driving.

It is alleged that he failed to stop after his BMW hit a pedestrian on Redbridge Lane, Ilford, on October 18. The victim, 20-year-old Nepalese student Yubin Tamang, was rushed to hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, doctors were unable to save him, and he later died in hospital.

He was initially charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, but this was changed to causing death by dangerous driving following Yubin’s death. Appearing at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court, Ghetts confirmed his name, age and address, but did not enter a plea.
