Norwich woman jailed after teenagers killed in horrific collision

24/08/2025

On August 18, a 36-year-old woman was jailed for 10 years at Lincoln Crown Court, after pleading guilty to two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and one count of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

She was banned from driving for 12 years and 8 months and must pass an extended retest before resuming driving.

On June 20, 2024, Natasha Allarakhia, of Postwick, Norwich, was driving her Audi Q2 along the A17 towards Sleaford, when she rammed into the back of a Ford Fiesta that had stopped at some temporary traffic lights. The collision occurred on a straight stretch of road in North Rauceby, just prior to the junction with Rauceby Lane.

Investigators determined that Allarakhia had been driving at over 90mph, well above the speed limit. She had braked less than 2 seconds before hitting the Fiesta, and witnesses reported that she was sipping alcohol as she drove, although she was not above the legal alcohol limit at the time of the accident. She initially told the police that the driver was a male who had fled the scene, but later admitted this was untrue. 17-year-old William Ray, driver of the Fiesta, and his front seat passenger Eddie Shore, 18, later died in hospital. The two 18-year-old back seat passengers also sustained serious injuries.
