Band C fine (150% of weekly income ) 7-9 points/discretionary disqualification
The more serious the incident the more likely you are going to face a disqualification for the offence. Representation is advised at this level.
You will not be eligible for a course at this level or a fixed penalty.
If you already have 6 points + on your driving record you fall within the totting up criteria and be eligible for a min 6 months disqualification.
Totting Up Ban Information
If you are a New Driver and do not wish to face revocation of your driving licence and a re-test then you must elect court and request a short disqualification for the offence.
Band B fine (100% weekly income) 5 - 6 points
You will not be eligible for a course at this level or a fixed penalty.

At this level you may be eligible for a course if you are at pre charge stage so it is worth writing to the police with mitigation explain that you are happy to take the Course.
If a course is not offered then you may be offered a fixed penalty ticket of £100 + 3 points as long as you do not have 9 points or more on your driving record.
If you are a New Driver it will be safe to accept a fixed penalty ticket but remember another offence attracting 3 points+ will bring you within the New Driver rules and you will have your licence revoked by the DVLA if you accept another FPT.
