Gladiators presenter banned from driving

12/04/2026

Barney Walsh, co-presenter of the BBC’s ‘Gladiators’ reboot alongside his father, Bradley Walsh, has fallen foul of totting up rules after breaking a temporary speed limit on the M4.

Walsh did not appear in Romford Magistrates’ Court in person, but was represented at the hearing, held on April 8, by his lawyer, Gwyn Lewis.

On October 27, 2025, Walsh was driving near Bristol when he was caught speeding in his Mercedes SUV at 58mph, in spite of a temporary 50mph speed limit being clearly displayed on an overhead gantry.

Walsh had earlier pleaded guilty to the offence, and his lawyer informed the court that he accepted the disqualification and was not intending to contest it using an exceptional hardship argument. He already had 9 penalty points on his licence at the time of the offence and, with another 3 added for the new offence, his total reached 12. This triggered a mandatory 6-month disqualification in line with totting up rules. He was additionally ordered to pay a fixed penalty notice of £72, a victim surcharge of £28 and court costs amounting to £85.
