Humberside Police have arrested two men following a vehicular incident that resulted in the death of a 13-year-old schoolboy in Grimsby.

At around 6 pm on Tuesday, March 24, the student was crossing the road on his kick-scooter, when he was struck by a Seat Ibiza driven by an 18-year-old male. Left with life threatening injuries, he was taken to hospital for emergency treatment, but doctors at Sheffield Children’s Hospital were unable to save him, and he died almost three days later.

Humberside Police have arrested and questioned an 18-year-old man on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and attempting to pervert the course of justice. Additionally, a 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. Both men have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police are trying to establish the circumstances leading to the accident, and have asked members of the public who witnessed the accident, or who have relevant dashcam footage, to get in touch as soon as possible.
